Audrey Carruthers Amico Fischer teaches 3rd grade and has been at GCS for 22 years. Audrey was a BOCES employee as a self-contained Special Education teacher for the first five years of her teaching career. Audrey’s undergraduate degree came from SUNY Fredonia, and she received her Masters from the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT. Audrey was the Director of the LIFTS summer program for several years. She has also taught summer school for the last five years. Audrey also serves on the Board of Directors for the Lifts program and has done this ”forever." She sings for the Centenary choir and is a member of the PPRC for Centenary Methodist Church. Audrey grew up in Argyle and has lived in Greenwich since 1985. She has three children: Elizabeth, 19 and a junior at the College of Saint Rose majoring in Social Work; Michael, 17 and Emily, 14. Lately her hobby seems to be relaxing, but when she is feeling ambitious she likes running, hiking, skiing, kayaking, and cooking. (Relaxing with her fiancé Dan, ranks right up there too!) GTA activities include Community Fund Award chairperson, a former Building Rep and delegate to the NYSUT Representative Assembly and a rookie negotiator for GTA. |
