Avenue     ,Cathleen Zebrowski, New Teacher Liaison

 

Cathleen teaches 4th grade and has been at GCS for 8 years.  She has also taught summer school.  Her first career was in broadcasting and she has worked in the medical field.  Cathleen was chosen and participated in the NYS Testing Regulations and Scoring of the Department of Scoring State ELA tests in 2005.

Cathleen has a Bachelors in K-6 Elementary Education and 7-12 English from the College of St. Rose.  She also has an Associate’s Degree in Telecommunications and Broadcasting with a minor in Journalism from Cayuga Community College and Syracuse University.  She is certified in Elementary Education K-6 and English 7-12.  Cathleen obtained her Masters in Reading from SUNY Albany.

Cathleen grew up in Clifton Park and lives in Schuylerville by the Saratoga National Battlefield.  She has three children:  MaryMackenzie, 13, Katelyn, 10, and Zachary, 8.  Her Hobbies are reading, scrap booking and poker.  She is also a volunteer with the Schuylerville PTSA.

Cathleen has been a facilitator of the late Professional Partners Program, GTA Negotiations Team, Mentor, GTA Nominating Committee and the GTA Community Fund Awards.  She wants to be a GTA New Teacher Liaison because she feels we need a strong union.  It is important to uphold the previous standards for retired teachers and for newly hired teachers.  It is important for a new teacher to know everything about the union so that they can fully participate when ready.
