GTA Community Fund Guidelines -

To be considered June 2009

1.      The purpose of the fund is to make yearly donations to organizations and agencies which promote the education and welfare of children in the community.

2.      Each member is assessed $2.50 for each of the 21 pay periods per year.

3.      Money can be donated to groups that:

a.       Are established community programs and organizations which in some way benefit child and adult education

b.      Request support for a one-time educational purpose

c.       Enhance the quality of education and life experiences for children of the community

4.      Money shall not be used to support those educational in-house programs that the school itself should be funding as part of on-going programs.

5.      A committee of at least four representatives (Primary, Middle Grade, Jr. High and Sr. High) will be selected each year at the first meeting in the fall to consider requests, make donations, notify those who receive money and those who don’t, and handle publicity.

6.      Any GTA member may request that a donation be made to a specific organization. Community groups may also request money.

7.      It is the intention of the GTA that several large donations be made each  year rather than many small ones.

8.      Each donation shall be considered a one-time gift and no organization should assume that future donations will be forthcoming.

9.      Requests for donations will be considered as received but are primarily intended to be rewarded at the end of the academic year.

10.  The entire program will be evaluated on a yearly basis and may be amended at that time.
